Venture Capital yrittäjyys nousussa Suomessa

The question of why this country on the edge of the Arctic Circle should have such active entrepreneurs came up again in a conversation with Wilhelm Taht, the marketing director ofFlowd, a social network for musicians and their “super-fans”. It is one of several Finnish companies focused on the music business including Steam Republic and Hitlantis.
“With Nokia changing gear there is a lot of technical know-how all of a sudden which wasn’t available even two years ago,” said Mr.Taht, diplomatically, about the savage job cuts at the struggling mobile phone giant. “There’s a culture of technically savvy engineers. Finns are not necessarily very talkative people, but when it comes to what they know about computers and programming it’s pretty staggering.”

Nyt on aika jolloin rakenteet muuttuvat eli uusille yrittäjille ehkä löytyy normaalia helpommin tilaa. Onneksi Suomessa on jo jonkin aikaa panostettu yrittäjyyteen ja teknologia yrittäjyyden tutkimiseen.

MACROS on kaikkein paras ja menestyksellisin esimerkki yhteistyöstä. Se on tietokoneohjelma, jolla voidaan mallintaa monimutkaisia matemaattisia prosesseja. Sitä voidaan käyttää esim. lentokoneiden kokeiluissa, tai osakekurssien käyttäytymisen ennustamiseen pörssissä. Ohjelman ovat tehneet venäläiset tutkijat EADS:n antaman tuen avulla.

Teknologia yrittäjyydessähän on iso ongelma se, että tieteellistekninen tieto poikkeaa liiketoiminnasta niin paljon että tieteellisen tiedon siirtäminen liiketoimintaympäristöön on sangen hankalaa ja monimutkaista. Pelkkien patenttien myyminen ei tuota yleensä kovin suurta tulovirtaa. Matka patentista bisnekseen on monasti aika pitkä ja vaikea.
